In the season premiere, viewers got a longer glimpse into the future where Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) was preparing to marry Robin (Cobie Smulders). Both the bride and the groom were having second thoughts about the wedding, but their friends were there to keep them calm. However, in the present day scenes, Barney and Quinn (guest star Becki Newton) were toasting their engagement.
From CBS: “"The Pre-Nup" -- When Barney designs an extensive pre-nup, the guys take note and propose their own relationship amendments to their significant others. Meanwhile, Quinn is outraged and draws up a pre-nup of her own, which causes friction between the sexes, on “How I Met Your Mother.”
Executive producer Craig Thomas told TV Line that the show will explain how Barney went from being engaged to Quinn, to getting ready to marry Robin and how both characters get over their cold feet and make it to the altar. “We’re going to fill in all the blanks on that day,” he said.
Could this be the beginning of the end for Barney and Quinn? How will Lily (Alyson Hannigan), Robin and Victoria (guest star Ashley Williams) react to the relation amendments that Marshall (Jason Segel), Nick (guest star Michael Trucco) and Ted (Josh Radnor) come up with? Find out when the next episode of “How I Met Your Mother” airs on Monday, Oct. 1 at 7:00 p.m. CST on CBS.
