Bad News: Mayim's Bialik was in car accident on August 15 leaving her with many cuts on hand. Good News: She is doing better and back on set!

A lot of the commenters have been ancatkitg the idea of breastfeeding past the age of 12 months. It’s like there’s a magic number that each woman is allowed to meet, but then she is put down and called things like gross and unhealthy. Really? I think something to remember here is that Mayim is simply sharing her experience for anyone who is interested in how things work for her family. If you want to know, here it is. She is simply willing to share. Obviously, many of you feel the same or else you wouldn’t be writing on here. Maybe some people should remember what their moms taught them years ago and keep a lid on the ugly things.BTW, I believe the world average for breastfeeding is 7 years, so it’s not like 2 or even 3 years is that out of whack with what some other cultures are doing. And if you look at some of the science of breast milk, I think you’ll find that it isn’t an unhealthy food at all. This is the second time I’ve tried reading the comments on what I considered an interesting article or blog on this website and found a lot of judgment and general mean-ness. It almost makes me want to avoid the comments altogether. We all have the right to choose how we parent. If our society is all about embracing differences, why are the moms and dads so mean to others for making different choices? My step-daughter does things quite differently from me with her daughter that is 1 month older than mine. We never disagree or argue or judge each other. We realize that everyone is different. I wish we could all be that way.
